Dear soldiers,
You are the true heroes of India. This Republic Day, I owe you all my sincere gratitude. In the ever-changing landscape of our country, you have given us lessons of true leadership every minute, every hour and every season. You have made me hold myself high with the values of service to our motherland.
As an academician, I feel that you have truly contributed to my andragogy on the field of education – in the courses of organisational behaviour, human resources management and many more. You have added depth and magnitude to the meaning of words like self-motivation, inspiration, attitude, sacrifice, character and punctuality. You have a tough and healthy mindset and fitness to serve on all terrains, and rise against all odds.
I will always remain indebted to you for teaching me the best management lessons through the institution of armed forces. Whenever I have setbacks and obstacles in life, I revisit the life lessons taught by you all through your vigil at the Siachen glaciers, and flood rescue operations in the toughest of terrains. Thanking you for keeping my mind and soul ignited to cheer the single most loved phrase since my childhood – ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai!’
Acknowledging you all for keeping our country's flag soaring high in the skies.
Heartfelt respect and gratitude,
Dr Dipaali Pulekar
