Hi, I am Adithya Sarma Singampalli, a final-year student Bachelors of Technology in Computer Science and Engineering at Vignan's Foundation for Science, Technology and Research (VFSTR) in Andhra Pradesh. I'm currently a licensee, curator and organiser for TEDxVFSTR – The first TED like event in the region of Guntur.
I strictly believe in three things for a better world to live in. These are – the rights to education, respect, and responsibility. Regarding this, I made a plan of action and came up with what majority of India misses in their operations. The plan of action took shape as an NGO that has two members on board currently.
When I find the time, I also work on writing scripts.
History tells us why an individual should value his/her vote. Through the act of voting, I seek to inspire change. As a change-maker, I brought TEDx to the remote region of Guntur and that is the reason why I value my vote. I take it as a honour because being a part of teams, I experienced how tough it is to be a leader, and choosing that leader is definitely an honour. It is also a responsibility, because I belong to this society and I aspire to be a responsible citizen.
As a citizen, I want to question my government. I believe their every fault has a massive impact on the people. For example, near my residence in Hyderabad, a road was excavated for ‘renovation/development’ and bus services were stopped. It is hard even for a two-wheeler to drive across this road. How can this go on for two and a half years?
Many leave the drinking water supply nozzle slightly open, wasting nearly 200 litres of water. If it is a loose connection, why can’t concerned authorities help it to function properly? These are some observations I want to question through this platform. These minute things will bear exponential costs to the whole country. We have the right to question, because we have the right to vote.
