Brown skin seems to be etching its place onto international runways. At the recently concluded New York Fashion Week, Natasha Ramachandran walked for brands Moncler, Nicole Miller and Tome NYC, while Monica Tomas walked for the label Delpozo.
Moving beyond Ujjwala Raut and Lakshmi Menon, more and more Indian models are being seen on international runways. We have models like Radhika Nair, who became the first Indian woman to walk for Balenciaga, and Bhumika Arora, who walked for Balmain S/S 2017. Meanwhile, Pooja Mor, a celebrated Indian model, has walked for Givenchy and Louis Vuitton, among other major international brands.
