Chhath Puja History

Chhath festival is considered to be the biggest festival in Bihar. The reason behind the beginning of this festival is believed to be from Mahabharata’s Karna.

Angraj Karna, who is the child of Kunti and Suryadev, considered Surya to be his god. Impressed by the son's devotion to his king, the people of Angadesh started worshipping Suryadev. Gradually, it became prevalent throughout Bihar.
