More than 170 countries from around the world are celebrating the World Breastfeeding Week (WBW) to promote the health of babies and mothers. Breastfeeding is not a lifestyle choice, but a natural process and a responsibility that comes with various known benefits for both the mom and the baby.
Munich based photographer, Tammy Nicole, has rounded up beautiful pictures of nursing mothers, in a project titled Walks of Motherhood, to show that breastfeeding is not just about milk.

It’s a roller coaster emotion. Breastfeeding is so glorified and there’s so much mommy-shaming if you don’t breastfeed! (Photo: tammynicolephotography.com)
Many moms buy formula because the choice to breastfeed has been taken away from them. Not because they chose formula milk over breast milk (Photo: tammynicolephotography.com)
It is NOT easy. The sore nipples, the latching issues, the teething infant; breastfeeding hurts. Three cheers for all mothers! (Photo: tammynicolephotography.com)
