Enid Blyton is one of my favourite authors. My favourite book by her is The Magic Faraway Tree series.
I like it because one GIGANTIC tree in the woods has magical lands on top of it and reading the book makes me feel like I am also in a magic land.
There are some odd people on the tree named Moonface, Silky, Whatzisname, Saucepan man, Dame Washalot and Angry Pixie who go to many amazing and exciting lands like the Land of Goodies, Do as-you-please, Topsy Turvy Land, Land of Birthdays and the Land of Dame Slap.
Saucepan man is very funny because he wears so many saucepans that he is deaf!
I loved the land in which there are a lot of yummy-licious and new kinds of candies, called Land of Goodies.
The Land of Dame Slap has a hostel which has pixies, fairies and brownies. The teacher is Dame Slap. She slaps someone when they do something bad or wrong, that’s why her name is Dame Slap. She slaps everyone so hard that they almost JUMP out of their skin. And sometimes they also hit their head on the ceiling so hard that they see stars!!
And do you know a very funny land? If you don’t, I’ll tell you. It is a land named Topsy Turvy Land. Everything out there is ulta-pulta. It looks something like this:
My favorite part of the book is when the tree is dying and the Land of Know-all comes to the top... and the tree is saved! If you want to know what happens then you will have to read the story yourself.
