‘Vasant’, or spring, is called the king of all seasons. This year, Basant Panchami will be celebrated across the country from 10:45 am on 29 January till 1:19 pm on 30 January 2020. According to the Hindu calendar, Vasant Panchami, aka Basant Panchami, is celebrated on the fifth day of the Shukla Paksha of Maagha month every year.
As per mythology, Goddess Saraswati was born on this day, and it is believed that worshipping Goddess Saraswati on the day of Basant Panchami brings blessings of wisdom and learning. Also, wearing yellow clothes on the day of Vasant Panchami is considered auspicious.
