After the explosive and detailed investigation by The New York Times exposing the media mogul, many actors, including Gwyneth Paltrow, Ashley Judd and Angelina Jolie, have accused Harvey Weinstein of sexually harassing them at some point in their career.
Oscar-winning actor, Lupita Nyong’o, in a New York Times op-ed gave a chilling encounter of how Harvey tried to get her into his bedroom on the pretext of a “massage”.
“I thought he was joking at first. He was not. For the first time since I met him, I felt unsafe,” she wrote. Lupita Nyong’o also spoke about her encounter with the likes of Weinsteins in Hollywood and the larger problem at hand for the women in the industry.
Lena Headey also spoke about being subjected to bullying by the director of The Brothers Grimm.
“We walked to the lift and the energy shifted, my whole body went into high alert, the lift was going up and I said to Harvey, ‘I’m not interested in anything other than work, please don’t think I got in here with you for any other reason, nothing is going to happen,” wrote Lena about Harvey Weinstein.
Headey said that Weinstein was “furious” and marched her to his room with his hand on her back. “I felt completely powerless,” Lena added.
Over 40 women have come forward accusing Harvey Weinstein of sexual harassment with some accounts of rape.
