Walk into a research laboratory and a sea of white labcoats – all men – greet you. The scenario is no different in parliaments or political assemblies or even in technology.

Employee ranks full of men, who are congratulated, persuaded and told that they belong there. In this sea of men, finding Waldo is easier than finding women.

In light of this practice, that has been going on for centuries, UN Women Egypt has released illustrations that makes a hard-hitting point.

Illustrated by Ic4design Illustration and DDB Dubai, the visuals go to show a workplace full of people, but spotting a woman in that crowd is impossible.

The series is titled ‘Finding Her’ and is focused on three industries in particular – science, technology and politics – but makes a larger point about all other workplaces that are traditionally male-dominated.
