16 December 2015 will mark the third anniversary of the ghastly Nirbhaya incident. In these three years, we have heard politicians and those in power make a lot of empty promises. The onus of women’s safety, despite talk of stricter policing and providing more CCTV cameras, is still on them.

So let’s stop subscribing to the myth of the ‘good woman’. Let’s assert our right to be scared. Let’s assert our right to not be martyrs to the country’s idea of worthy femininity. Let’s assert our right to live the way we want, despite the constant fear and scrutiny and judgment.

In the interest of this sisterhood, share with us how YOU keep safe in the city. Reply in the comments below or tweet to us with #NoMoreNirbhaya.
