We cry. We PMS. We can’t lead. We are not good with money. We are bad at maths or science. Our empowerment comes at the expense of men.
And the myths continue.
Yes, men! We may be bad at a lot of things (just like you are) and we are not perfect. But read this: The above are myths which have been omnipresent for centuries and it’s time to bust them. Because in this era of Batman, Superman and Ironman, we have our a list of our very own desi Supergirls and Wonderwomen who are ordinary women with extraordinary powers.
From flying an aircraft solo to climbing the Everest (that too four times), these women have truly impressed us and inspired us. And they didn’t even need a cape to fly or super-strength to fight crime and forces of evil.
So on this Women’s Day, let us reflect on these strong, powerful and brave women who have inspired us with their deeds.
Myth 1 Busted: It’s a man’s world (up there in the sky)
Well, Avani Chaturvedi thinks otherwise. She flew a MiG-21 bison and became the first Indian woman to fly a fighter aircraft solo.

Myth 2 Busted: Women can’t fight
When you are Nirmala Sitharaman, the defence minister of a country of billions and have the Armed Forces at your command, do you still really need guns and swords to prove your ability to fight?

Myth 3 Busted: Women crack under pressure
Manu Bhaker maybe 16 but has already earned a place at the Beunos Aires 2018 Youth Olympic Games after winning the women’s 10 m Air Pistol gold at the first ISSF World Cup stage in Mexico’s Guadalajara.

Biocon chief Kiran Mazumdar Shaw is the second richest Indian woman and has been leading the company for quite some time. Shaw is a self-made woman who was ranked 629th on the Forbes 2018 World’s Billionaires List with a fortune of $3.6 billion.
