Inkpot India Conclave, a congregation of writers and artists, courted controversy after they posted about one of their sessions with adman Suhel Seth, who was accused of sexual harassment by five women in the wake of the #MeToo movement last year.

Seth was accused of forcibly kissing these women, groping them and of inappropriate behaviour in general.

Most of these incidents took place in public places, while one took place at his home, according to the allegations. When The Quint reached out to him for a comment on one of the allegations from last year, he denied all claims.

“I have passport stamps, etc to prove it [that I wasn’t there in Mumbai on that day]. The person has been anonymous, so I don’t even know what I have to say.”

At the Inkpot India Enclave, Seth was called a ‘literary torchbearer’ and was listed for an address on 18 November.

The Me Too India Twitter page posted about this, with other participants such as William Dalrymple and Dr Tharoor citing confusion in dates.

After outrage on social media against Suhel Seth’s inclusion in the conclave, the Inkpot India Conclave’s Twitter page posted an update saying Suhel Seth will be ‘unable’ to attend the event.

When The Quint reached out to Inkpot for a response, they said that they will get back soon. We will update this story as and when we get a response from them.
