PUBG Addiction Lands Fitness Trainer from Jammu in Hospital

A fitness trainer from Jammu has been admitted to the hospital due to his addiction to the online game PUBG.

This is the sixth such case from Jammu.

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, popularly called PUBG, has become a sensation among gamers after it was introduced to mobile phones.

However, in an extreme case, a fitness trainer from Jammu has been admitted to the hospital due to his addiction to the online game.

A report by UNI stated that the gamer lost his mental balance after playing the battle game for over ten days and started injuring himself.

Such cases are not rare. In fact, this unidentified man is the sixth such person to have his health deteriorate after getting too deeply involved in the game.

The doctor at the hospital was quoted by UNI as saying,

The patient is unstable at the moment and has partially lost his mental balance.

The doctor also stated that even though the patient was recognizing people, his mind was not conscious and was still under the influence of the game.

The doctors at National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS), Bangalore, told Mirror Now, that the hospital is currently treating six-seven patients who are dealing with PUBG addiction.

According to a report in the India Today, locals in Jammu and Kashmir have appealed to the government to get the game banned in the state. China's Online Gaming Ethics Review Committee was also reported to ban violent games such as PUBG and Fortnite.
