Life got in the way of your sex drive? Yes, says a new survey conducted on men and women between the age group of 21 to 45, residing in Delhi NCR.
The survey conducted by Max Healthcare reveals interesting insights on how lifestyle impacts sexual health of men and women.
Top findings of the study reveals, women believe hormonal changes and weight issues is messing with their sex drive, while men blame lack of exercise and unhealthy eating.
According to the survey, stress gets to everyone. But despite stress, men continue to have a higher sex drive than women. Over 42.5% stressed men stated that they continue to have a high sexual drive, in comparison to 36.8% stressed women.
However, the type of stress matters too. Men are more impacted by professional stress in scenarios like an angry showdown with one’s boss or manager at work.
Professional stress leads to reduced sex drive in men (21.1%) more than women (9.5%).
Dr Sujeet Jha, senior endocrinologist at Max Healthcare, who was involved with the study says the immediate impact of lifestyle is on sexual dysfunction but the larger concern is more long term.
Put that cheese burger and that packet of chips down and take a cue from your healthy colleague. Chances are he’s getting a lot more sex than you!
According to the survey, over 70% respondents who follow a healthy diet (more than five times a week) have a strong sex drive, while over 48% men perceive unhealthy eating habits to be the leading cause of reduced sexual drive.
What’s worse, lifestyle-related ailments impact sexual drive of men more strongly than women.
But according to a disturbing finding in the survey, men continue to blame women for all their problems. Over 40% men blame their partners for sexual issues while only 16.4% women think their partners are to blame.
Time to lighten up, take up some exercise and de-stress. Life is stealing your sex drive.
