If you are an Indian, you probably know at least one person with diabetes. The ailment affects more than 422 million people worldwide – a figure that is expected to double by 2030.

In India, 1 in 20 people have diabetes and 1 in 10 children are prone to it.

On World Diabetes Day, FIT caught up with Dr Sahil Fulara, Consultant Endocrinologist, Jaslok Hospital, Mumbai to talk about this deadly disease.

Dr Fulara shed some light on the ABCD (Aaya, Butler, Cook, Driver) Syndrome in India, which he says is the leading cause of a sedentary lifestyle that puts Indians at the risk of diabetes.
