World Food Safety Day is celebrated annually on 7 June. This was started two years by the WHO to highlight the importance of food security for all, and inspire action to prevent and manage foodborne disorders.

This year's theme is, 'safe food now for a healthy tomorrow'.

This year's theme emphasises on food safety being a shared responsibility between governments, producers and consumers.

"Everyone has a role to play from farm to table to ensure the food we consume is safe and healthy," says the WHO.

Are you an informed consumer? Take the FIT quiz to find out how much you know about food safety.
