What better way to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the comic book debut of The Joker than to reveal the mega-villain’s latest avatar? David Ayer, director of the forthcoming Suicide Squad posted this picture of actor Jared Leto as Joker as he appears in the film. Suicide Squad revolves around a group of super-villains hired by the government to go on deadly undercover missions, which the good guys won’t take up.
In his incarnation as The Joker, Jared Leto sports shocking green hair, a purple glove and multiple tattoos all inspired from the sketches of Brian Bolland in writer Alan Moore’s The Killing Joke for DC Comics. Leto might just turn out to be a worthy successor to Heath Ledger’s memorable portrayal of The Joker in The Dark Knight.
Besides Jared Leto as The Joker, Margot Robbie will be seen as Harley Quinn, Will Smith as Deadshot while Viola Davis will play Amanda Waller in Suicide Squad. The film, produced by Warner Bros Entertainment is slated to release on August 5, 2016.
Don’t make us laugh. The green hair. The crazed smile. The maniacal cackle... Unpredictable, violent and incredibly dangerous, he is chaos personified and has taken on everyone from his arch enemy Batman to even the Man of Steel.
