The fictional universe of Star Trek combined with feature films and television series commands a huge fan following all over the world. Star Trek: The Original Series began its journey in 1966 created by Gene Roddenberry. As it completes five decades, we think India could be ready for the desi version of Star Trek.
The show set in the Milky Way galaxy somewhere during the 2260s had a charming Captain James T. Kirk played by William Shatner. The actor, known for his idiosyncratic and funny dialogue delivery, was known to be a real charmer among the ladies. So we think Hrithik Roshan may be the best fit for the role of Captain Kirk.
Spock, known to provide an ‘outsider’s perspective’, is an extremely nonchalant character. He is also half-Vulcan, which means rationality takes precedence over feelings for this iconic character. Played originally by Leonard Nimoy, we think Aamir Khan would make the perfect Indian Spock.
(PS: He’s already got the bigs ears and raised eyebrows to make the cut).
DeForest Kelly plays the Lieutenant Commander Dr. Leonard “Bones” McCoy, who is known for his grit and macabre. We think Farhan Akhtar would fit the bill to perfection. With his cheeky dialogue delivery, Akhtar would make the perfect “Bones.”
