David Letterman retires next week bringing to an end the longest running late-night hosting career in the history of American television. Well, actress Tina Fey created history of another kind as she came on Letterman’s show to bid him goodbye. Fey swore that she won’t ever wear a fancy dress to a talk show again and decided to gift Letterman the dress that she had on! She literally took off her dress on national television! You’ve got to see this to believe it!
Now that’s something Letterman will never forget!
Sixteen Emmys and 30 years later, Letterman will call it quits on May 20th, 2015. Though the CBS show has a cult following in the US and abroad, Letterman feels he’s not what audiences want to watch at 11:30 PM anymore.
In an interview given to the Rolling Stones Magazine he confessed that Jimmy Falon, Jimmy Kimmel and Seth Meyers are the new age kings of viral content, who’ve successfully replaced his old school sit-down interviews and scripted jokes. YouTube dominance is not something Letterman’s upto competing with at the age of 68.
I hear about things going viral, and I think, ‘How do you do that?’ I think I’m the blockage in the plumbing.

Stephen Colbert of Comedy Central is set to replace Letterman. You will surely be missed Mr Letterman.
