Uttarakhand Govt Calls For Ban on Sara and Sushant’s ‘Kedarnath’

Uttarakhand HC on Thursday dismissed a PIL seeking a ban on Kedarnath on the plea that it hurts Hindu sentiments.

According to a report in ANI, the tourism minister of Uttarakhand, Satpal Maharaj has called for a ban on Sara Ali Khan and Sushant Singh Rajput’s Kedarnath.

“Our committee has forwarded our advice to CM and decided that law & order should be reviewed. We asked District Magistrates to maintain peace and everyone has decided that Kedarnath movie should be banned. The movie is banned everywhere in state,” Satpal Maharaj, Uttarakhand Tourism Minister to ANI.

The film’s makers have just released a statement responding to the situation:

<i>Kedarnath</i> is a love story and doesn’t promote any hidden agendas. The film has received clearance from the respected CM of Uttarakhand. It would be unfair to make any assumptions before watching the film.&nbsp;

The Uttarakhand High Court on Thursday dismissed a PIL seeking a ban on Kedarnath on the plea that it hurts Hindu sentiments.

Dismissing the petition, a division bench of Chief Justice Ramesh Ranganathan and Justice Ramesh Khulbe said a similar controversy surrounding the release of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavat had made the film a super hit.

The court advised the petitioner to approach a high powered committee headed by the Rudraprayag district magistrate with his objections to the movie.
