Priyanka Chopra’s ‘Quantico’ is on its way out, what with the series being cancelled. But it seems to be ensuring that it goes out with a bang. In episode 8, Alex goes undercover with an American military contractor who is believed to have struck a deadly deal with another country; but in the end, it's Alex's life is in peril. (Mind the spoiler in the last paragraph).

The episode starts on a great note with a curveball. After a long time, an opening scene has really overturned our expectations. It makes us question everything we have known and held dear about the ‘invincible’ and unshakeable Alex. We see Priyanka Chopra attending an AA meeting of sorts for spies and confiding in the group about how empty her FBI job feels. Peel the layer and things are not what they seem.

The opening sets the tone for a mission that really raises the stakes and we find ourselves curious about how they are going to pull off the gargantuan task at hand. The thrilling undercover mission keeps us hooked. Priyanka Alex Chopra is at the centre of the action. She holds the reins of the episode.

The narrative is tighter with a smaller team, what with the newbies gone. The risk is real not just for Alex but also for Ryan and McQuigg. Everyone is undercover making the proceedings intense. Brace yourself for surprises. Not only is Alex in a tough spot where she has to rely on her wits to survive but also ends up making a painful compromise.

Alex’s personal life also takes many turns in this rollercoaster of a television hour. Amid all the tension, the episode cranks up the chemistry between McQuigg and Alex. Then it teases with possibilities again when you sense Ryan’s latent jealousy. While Marlee Matlin takes a backseat in this one, viewers can rely on Harry’s sardonic humour in this episode too.

It hasn’t all been sunshine and rainbows between Alex and Shelby in this season but this episode also brings their renewed friendship to the fore.

We hope Quantico continues to up its game with the remaining three episodes to cement its legacy.
