Priyanka Chopra and Madhuri Dixit are set to recreate the steps to the former’s hit number ‘Pinga’ from 2015 film Bajirao Mastani on the season finale of reality show Dance Deewane. The appearance is part of Priyanka and Farhan Akhtar’s promotions for their upcoming film The Sky Is Pink. Madhuri’s co-judge Shashank Khaitan will also reportedly put his mimicry skills to the test and imitate Farhan.
‘Pinga’ sees Priyanka as Peshwa Bajirao’s first wife Kashibai welcome the warrior princess Mastani, played by Deepika Padukone, to the palace. While the episode is set to air over the weekend, here’s a refresher.
Directed by Shonali Bose, The Sky Is Pink is based on the short life of motivational speaker Aisha Chaudhary who was born with an immune deficiency disorder and later diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis. It also stars Dangal actor Zaira Wasim and Rohan Saraf. The film opened to a four-minute-long standing ovation at the 44th Toronto International Film Festival on 13 September. The premiere was an emotional moment for Priyanka who got teary eyed. In a video that has surfaced online, she can be seen hugging Shonali Bose and then wiping the tears off her face. The Sky Is Pink releases in theatres on 11 October.
