Kaun Banega Crorepati is now coming up with its tenth season in 2018. The show has seen many contestants create history and win a higher amount with each passing year. As KBC 10 begins to air on 3 September, here’s a look at the past winners and what they’re up to now.

1. Megha Patil

Megha Patil is a cancer survivor who won Rs. 1 crore in the eighth season KBC in 2014. Megha used her money to pay her pending hospital bills, besides using the money for children’s education.

2. Firoz Fatima

The first woman contestant to win KBC in the seventh season, Firoz Fatima used her Rs 1 crore prize money to contribute to the household income. She had to give up studies after the death of her father.

3. Achin Narula and Sarthak Narula

Achin and Sarthak, who hail from Delhi, managed to win Rs 7 crore on the game show. The brothers have used the money to treat their mother who is a cancer patient. They also set up their own small business.

4. Taj Mohammed Rangrez

History professor, Taj Mohammad Rangrez is the first contestant to win Rs. 1 crore in season 7 of Kaun Banega Crorepati. Taj used the prize money for the treatment of his daughter’s partial vision impairment. He also bought a house and used the money to fund the marriage of two orphaned girls.

5. Sunmeet Kaur

Sunmeet Kaur won Rs. 1 crore in the sixth season of KBC. Although having a fashion designing degree, Sunmeet couldn’t pursue her career due to her in-laws. She used her prize money to start her own fashion store.

6. Rahat Taslim

Rahat won KBC in the fourth season in 2010 by winning Rs 1 crore. Rahat was a studying medicine before her dream was interrupted by marriage. Rahat used her prize money to open a garment showroom in a mall in Giridih.

7. Sushil Kumar

Sushil Kumar created history on KBC in 2011 when he won Rs 5 crore. A computer operator from Bihar by profession, Sushil was the first contestant to have won such a large amount of money on the show. But according to reports, he didn’t invest his money properly. He reportedly spent it to build a house, buying farmland and is apparently jobless now.

8. Ravi Saini

Winner of Kaun Banega Crorepati Junior, Ravi Saini was just 14 years old when he participated on the game show. Ravi was in 10th grade and won Rs 1. crore. Ravi later studied to become an Indian Police Service (IPS) officer.

9. Harshvardhan Navathe

Harshvardhan was the first contestant to win Rs 1 core in season 1 of Kaun Banega Crorepati in 2000. He was preparing for his Indian Civil Services exam when he got a call for an audition on the game show. But after winning, he couldn’t focus on the exam. He later pursued an MBA from a UK University. Harshvardhan now works for Mahindra and Mahindra, and is married with two children.
