The war against the Night King in The Long Night claimed the lives of several important characters like Jorah Mormont, Lyanna Mormont, Theon Greyjoy, among others, and almost the entire Dothraki army and many unsullied.

The photos from Game of Thrones season 8’s next episode, shows the surviving characters pay their respects to the dead in a mass funeral. The eight pictures released by HBO hint at a sombre beginning to episode 4.

But there is not much time to be lost it seems (as we have seen in the preview) and we see Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) heading the war planning, with Missandei (Nathalie Emmanuel), and Varys (Conleth Hill) by her side.

The most intriguing shot of the lot is the one capturing the Targaryen ships as they sail out, perhaps straight into the next big war against Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey) at King’s Landing. This scene is most likely to appear at the end of the episode.

We say this because director Miguel Sapochnik, who helmed the big war episodes like The Long Night, Hardhome and Battle of the Bastards, will also be directing episode 5, which is likely to be another big war episode.
