It's confirmed. The wildly popular American sitcom The Big Bang Theory will end with season 12. Warner Bros. Television and CBS confirmed the news after months of speculation. The series, which debuted in 2007, stars Johnny Galecki, Jim Parsons, Kaley Cuoco, Simon Helberg, Kunal Nayyar, Mayim Bialik and Melissa Rauch. It has won 10 out of its 52 Emmy nominations.
"We are forever grateful to our fans for their support of The Big Bang Theory during the past twelve seasons. We, along with the cast, writers and crew, are extremely appreciative of the show's success and aim to deliver a final season, and series finale, that will bring 'The Big Bang Theory' to an epic creative close," the team shared on social media in a statement.
According to a statement released by Warner Bros. TV, The Big Bang Theory, with 279 episodes, is the longest-running multi-camera comedy in TV history.
