The indefinite strike called by the FWICE (Federation of Wester Indian Cine Employees) was called off on Saturday night itself. According to reports, the decision was taken after producers assured that the demands of the workers would be met as set out in the MOU.
The producers’ body has given everything in writing to us thereby agreeing to satisfy our fundamental demands as mentioned in the MOU. The broadcasters too will be closely involved henceforth and will act as the watchdog facilitating and mediating and doing everything else necessary to get the MOU signed.
– Kamlesh Pandey, President, FWICE
The strike which involved several cine workers associations, including writers, cinematographers and other technicians, started on Saturday morning. Several big films including Shah Rukh Khan’s Dilwale and Aamir Khan’s Dangal, were affected by the strike.
