Filmmaker Shyam Benegal came out in support of director Sanjay Leela Bhansali in the ongoing debate surrounding Padmavati and said that the government should support the film.
IFFI chairman, Sujoy Ghosh resigned after films S Durga and Nude were pulled out of International Film Festival of India (IFFI). Benegal said that Sujoy took the right decision.
“Government decided that a couple of films chosen by jury shouldn’t be there. If they override what jury does, their position becomes untenable. So jury or its chairman will have to resign,” says Shyam Benegal on dropping of two films, S Durga and Nude from International Film Festival of India (IFFI).
