On April Fool’s Day, we played a little prank on our readers (all in good humour of course) and told you ‘Karan Arjun aayenge’. The trick, at the cost of patting ourselves on the back, was complete, with movie posters et all. And the response was overwhelming.
Mere Karan Arjun aayenge, we had always hoped, and now the most awaited news is here. Karan and Arjun are indeed returning with the second part of the cult classic movie. We present to you the exclusive first look of the film.
Shah Rukh Khan is returning to essay the role of Arjun, in the story that is reportedly set in a big city, against the village that formed the backdrop of the original film in 1995.
“Shah Rukh Khan plays a big-city gambler in the movie, a role which would remind his fans of Don,” says a source familiar to the development. The film will carry a new story and may not be linked to the first part, the source added.
The mother angle of the original Karan Arjun has also been changed in this one. Karan Arjun 2 takes on a more youthful character and tells the story of a love triangle between the three leads. Shanina Shaik, a model associated with a lingerie brand, has been roped in to play the female lead in this big screen dhamaka.
Salman Khan, back as Karan, is reportedly an undercover agent disguised as a musician in the film. His role is that of a ‘guy-next-door’ on a mission to catch Arjun. But then, with a twist of fate, they realise that the two aren’t completely strangers. The story gets interesting from here on.
While in the first part, they were fighting together, this time they fight each other.
Here are pictures of Karan & Arjun bonding between shots, as they prepare for the role.
Karan Arjun 2 is slated to release around Christmas 2018 – by which time there would be two more April Fools’ Day, and if you’ve read till this point, well, we’ve won this year. Happy April Fools’ Day 2016!
P.S - We indeed want the above news to be true at some point in life. Shah Rukh, Salman, please take this seriously.
