After Ae Dil Hai Mushkil fought its battle against Maharashtra Navnirman Sena over the involvement of Pakistani actor Fawad Khan, the party has reared its head up again – this time ahead of the release of Shah Rukh Khan’s next, Raees.

Khan met the MNS chief Raj Thackeray over the release of his film, which also stars Pakistani actress Mahira Khan. The meeting reportedly lasted over an hour after which Thackeray told the media that he had been reassured by Khan that Mahira won’t be promoting the film.

Thackeray added that the film will release unhindered, but Mahira won’t be coming to India to promote it. He reportedly said Pakistani actors won’t be allowed to do promotions until India-Pakistan ties improve. This coming from Thackeray seems to be a softened stand from what his party had earlier taken.

Looks like Thackeray is the new extra-constitutional censor board.

Incidentally last year, MNS Chitrapat Sena had called for a boycott of Khan’s Dilwale as the actor didn’t contribute toward drought victims in Maharashtra, but sent Rs 1 crore toward Chennai’s flood relief fund.
