“I am Innocent”, Says Pratyusha’s Boyfriend Rahul Raj Singh

Rahul says he found Pratyusha hanging from the ceiling and he called the neighbours before taking her to hospital.

Since the news of TV actress Pratyusha Banerjee’s suspicious death has gone public, her boyfriend Rahul Raj Singh is being watched closely by investigating authorities. According to the Pinkvilla report, Rahul has told the police about being in a live-in relationship with the deceased actress and has also confessed that he was too overwhelmed by the situation to inform the police of the mishap. Here’s an excerpt from Rahul’s statement-

We used to stay in a two bedroom flat. We had two keys; one key was with Pratyusha and the other was with me. When I entered the bedroom, I found Pratyusha hanging from the ceiling. I got very scared. Immediately, I called the neighbours and with their help, I took her to Kokilaben Hospital. We assumed that she was alive, but she was not. I got so scared that I did not inform the police. It was the hospital authorities who informed them. After the doctor’s declaration, I called up Pratyusha’s family members and few of our close friends.

Speaking with media persons on his way to the police station while he was under detention, Rahul said he was “innocent”.

Some of Pratyusha’s close friends from the industry have hinted at foul play involving Rahul, but investigations are still underway and more details are awaited.
