In what’s a major leap, popular series Modern Family will for the first time on television, feature a transgender child actor, eight-year-old Jackson Millarker, in a forthcoming episode. Ryan Case, the director of the comedy show, took to Twitter to share the news and said she is “super proud” of the episode.
Called A Stereotypical Day, the episode will air in the US on 28th September on ABC. In the episode, same-sex couple Cameron and Mitchell allow their daughter Lily to have her transgender friend Tom over to play.
Actor Jesse Tyler Ferguson, who’s part of the cast, also tweeted his support.
