Music label T-series has removed two songs sung by Pakistani singers Atif Aslam and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan from their YouTube account after the recent terror attack on CRPF jawans in Pulwama. The two songs are Baarishein by Atif and Zindagi by Rahat, which were uploaded on 13 February and 15 February respectively. According to sources, T-Series took the decision on the request of their fans and given the current situation.

The film wing of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) on Saturday had also asked all music companies to stop working with Pakistani singers. Speaking to PTI, Amey Khopkar, head of the MNS Chitrapat Sena had said, “We have verbally communicated to Indian music companies like T-Series, Sony Music, Venus, Tips Music etc to not work with Pakistani singers. These companies should stop it immediately or we will take action in our own style.”

Since T-Series has not yet given an official statement on dropping the two songs, it is not clear if the decision was due to the threat issued by the MNS. The party led by Raj Thackeray had similarly demanded a ban on all Pakistani artists working in India post the Uri attacks in 2016.

T-Series has currently not extended the action to the other songs by Pakistani singers in their library.
