Madan Mohan Kohli, better known as Madan Mohan, is one of the most gifted music directors to have graced Bollywood. Known for his peerless melody, Madan Mohan never had a formal training in music. He started performing at the age of 11 for broadcast shows in All India Radio - later he would go on to compose for some of their shows as well.
Madan Mohan’s first big Bollywood break as a music director came with the 1950 film Aankhen, followed by innumerable superhit songs. His work with Mohd Rafi, Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhosle and Talat Mahmood are the stuff of musical legends.
On his 94th birth anniversary (25 June), tune in to listen to some of his best compositions.
