1. Karan Calls out Misogynistic Vultures in This Week’s Radio Chat

Bollywood’s own agony aunt, Karan Johar is doling out advice to couples about communication in this week’s episode of Calling Karan.

After accusations and counter accusations over who wrote the script of the Kangana Ranaut-starrer Simran, it’s now Hichki’s turn. Writer Nishant Kaushik has taken to Twitter to share how he was given a one-liner brief by the film’s director Siddharth Malhotra two-and-a-half years back and he submitted a story that’s startlingly familiar to what the Rani Mukerji’s comeback film looks like.

Kaushik claims he received no response from Malhotra despite trying to get in touch with him several times.

“More than 2.5 years later, I watch the #Hichki trailer and notice a rather similar storyline, a protagonist with the same speech disorder I had described, and other nuances that I MAY NOT own all by myself, but are undoubtedly similar to the ones I portrayed,”

After Padmavati, it’s Tiger Zinda Hai. Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) has reportedly written to Mumbai’s theatre owners against screening Salman Khan-Katrina Kaif’s upcoming mega release Tiger Zinda Hai. The reason? Marathi film Deva, which also releases this Friday, not getting prime time shows as Tiger hogs the limelight.

In a press conference on Wednesday, Film division head of MNS, Amey Khopkar told ANI, “We have sent a letter to Yash Raj Films. If they’re ready to give screen space to Marathi films, ‘Deva’ in this case, then there is no need for us to oppose it. However, if they don’t, we won’t allow it to shoot hereafter in Maharashtra”.
