Who doesn’t love a day out in the sun and on the sand? Baywatch takes you on a beach vacation, but in super slow motion. It’s got stars like Dwayne Johnson, Zac Efron, and desi girl Priyanka Chopra, but they couldn’t prove to be worthy lifeguards to save this feature from sinking.
The film oozes glamour and style and star power. But apparently the director, Seth Gordon, missed out on sprinkling logic and story, swaad-anusaar.
A great part of the screen space was clouded by Dwayne Johnson’s muscles. Either the producers couldn’t believe Johnson agreed to do this movie, or they were big fans of the star themselves. Because, he was everywhere.
One thing that both the genders get to do generously was abuse, and abuse. Too many ‘effs’ were exchanged verbally.
That’s me trying to be funny.
In a movie centred around the beefed up actor Dwayne Johnson, Priyanka Chopra doesn’t get a very meaty role. *Pun game on point*
Priyanka Chopra plays a villain, with interests in drug deals and real-estate projects. She appears on-screen occasionally to say something in her ‘exotic, seductive, husky’ voice and invites people to parties. Not much else is known about her character.
The 2 hour of Baywatch’s runtime goes with slow-mo montages, some really low-brow humour, and extended scenes with jokes involving male genitalia. The film goes down under the weight of its hype and star-cast.
I hope this review serves as a worthy rescuer. Share with your friends, and be a ‘good lifebuoy’.
