Italian actress and fashion model, Monica Bellucci is finally coming to India for Mumbai Academy of Moving Image (MAMI) festival. The actor, often described as the most beautiful woman in the world, sat down to chat with film critic and journalist, Anupama Chopra to talk about cinema, and life beyond it.

Monica says that the first Bollywood film she ever saw was Shah Rukh Khan starrer, Devdas and expressed her interest in doing a film in India. She also met the actor in Morocco once and hopes to catch him while in the city! Monica said that she also loved Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen, Anurag Kashyap’s Ugly and Neeraj Ghaywan’s Masaan.

On working with the likes of leading directors like Giuseppe Tornatore, Emir Kusturica, Francis Ford Coppola, Sam Mendes, Mel Gibson, Gasper Noe, Monica says that each director is talented in different ways. “A great director for me has to have his own universe,” she says.

When Anupama Chopra asked Monica about whether she thinks beauty is an obstacle, the actress said, “Beauty is like a horse. You have to know how to ride it. If you count only on beauty, you don’t go far!”
