Much to the excitement of generations of ABBA fans all over the world, the Swedish band sang together after more than 30 years to celebrate the 50th anniversary of when Bjorn Ulvaeus and Benny Anderson – the band’s male members – first met.

All four in the quartet attended a private gala in honor of the band, according to The Rolling Stones. While they discussed what each of them have been up to, the group came together on stage and sang a rendition of their hit song Me and I.

The two female singers Agnetha Fatskog and Anni-Frid Lyngstad began the rendition, and much to the delight of the audience, they were joined on stage by Ulvaeus and Andersson, who completed the quartet.

The event took place at Stockholm’s Berns Hotel, according to The Telegraph.

The group has consistently refused to perform ever since they split in 1982, at the peak of their fame. The performance was perhaps a one-off thing, and it is not known if the group will be open to performing together again in the future. But it is without a doubt a splendid surprise.

Though the event was private, the world is giddy with excitement as radio channels exploded with ABBA’s songs.

The quartet is perhaps coming closer to a reunion as three of the four in the group were seen together at the inauguration of the Stockholm’s ABBA museum, in January.

Faltskog supposedly did not attend the event.
