The #MeToo movement that’s currently raging across social media and is naming and shaming alleged sexual predators had hit another prominent filmmaker after Vikas Bahl.
Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao on 10 October released a statement that they are distancing themselves from a project because it involved someone who has been “accused of sexual misconduct”, without naming the filmmaker. While the statement states that the particular case is subjudice and that they are in no position to pass judgement on anyone, it went on to say - “without casting any aspersions on anyone involved in this case, and without coming to any conclusions about these specific allegations, we have decided to step away from this film.”

Tanushree Dutta's advocate Nitin Satpute has said that they have filed a defamation case against actor Rakhi Sawant. Rakhi held a press conference supporting Nana Patekar a few days back in which she maligned Tanushree calling her a liar and unhinged.

The director of Super 30, Vikas Bahl has been accused of sexual harassment by a former employee of Phantom Films. The survivor however, has declined to file charges. Deccan Chronicle reports that in the absence of a legal case against the director, he is back to work. Bahl has reportedly resumed editing his upcoming release.

Singer Alisha Chinai has voiced her support for the women who have accused music composer Anu Malik of sexual harassment. She was quoted by The Asian Age as saying “Every word said and written about Anu Malik is true. I stand by all the women who have finally spoken up. May they find peace and closure in their lives.”
