Kareena Kapoor has set some new standards in Bollywood in the way she carried her pregnancy. And now she’s doing her bit to fight the immense pressure on stars to lose all the pregnancy weight in lightning speed as well.

The spunky mother recently shared some tips on losing all the 18 kilos that she put on the right way while launching her dietician Rujuta Diwekar’s new book. Here are some highlights:

And I flaunted it, double chin and all, until the day I walked into the hospital. People said I could eat grilled fish or meat to avoid putting on weight. But I wanted to do it the conventional way, the right way. So I ate it all, but in the right quantities.

The beauty of pregnancy is that you are bringing a life into this world. It doesn’t matter what your size or shape is. The idea is to just embrace it. I am out and about and I am flaunting my size, whether people still feel that I am overweight. Or that I shouldn’t be wearing leggings because maybe my thighs are looking too fat or my calves are looking too fat. But it doesn’t matter because I just had the most amazing child and I have an amazing support system.

I was in panic mode post my delivery to lose all the weight I had gained. I even insisted Rujuta to put me back on my ‘Tashan’ diet. But she told me we can’t do that now as this time, we need to get my body back in shape in a progressive manner.

Taking Her Time to Lose Weight

My aim is not just to lose the weight I had put on. I don’t want to do it overnight. It may take long, but I want to feel light, happy and energetic throughout the process. And that is important.
