It seems popular TV comedian Kapil Sharma has stirred a whole can of worms. He took to Twitter this morning to vent his frustration over paying a bribe of Rs 5 lakh to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), in order to set up his office. What’s more, the evidently angry TV star even tagged Prime Minister Narendra Modi on it.
Even as Sharma’s tweet went viral, BMC asked him to lodge a formal complaint and name the officer who demanded bribe from him. This was followed by a promise of action from none other than Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, who took to Twitter to reassure Sharma.
Aaditya Thackeray, president o f the youth wing of Shiv Sena, also pitched in to thank Sharma for being an “alert” Mumbaikar, and urging him to disclose the name of the concerned BMC officer.
According to ANI, Manohar Pawar, chief of vigilance, BMC has urged Sharma to lodge a formal complaint and ensuring strong action against the guilty.
