Kannada celebrity couple Yash and Radhika Pandit finally tied the knot on Friday in a grand ceremony held in Bengaluru.
Designed by art director Arun Sagar, the wedding venue at the Taj West End resembled the Somanatheshwara temple in Kolar, Karnataka. The ceremony that was conducted according to Vokkaliga and Brahmin traditions began at 11:45 am.
The couple who were dating for the past eight years got engaged in August this year in Goa.
Unlike their low-key engagement ceremony in Goa that was attended by only close relatives and friends, many prominent personalities from the Kannada film industry and regional political leaders attended the wedding. The lavish marriage ceremony began with the sangeet and mehendi ceremonies on Tuesday.
Reports say that two wedding receptions are being planned to be held on the Palace grounds in Bengaluru on Saturday.
Through a Facebook Live early on Friday morning, Yash told his fans of a special event that is being organised for the public on 11 December.
"It is owing to a lot of security issues that we were unable to invite all of you to the wedding and the reception thereafter. But do come on 11 December for a sumptuous meal…. enjoy yourselves. We however request you not to take the pain of getting us gifts when you do come," Yash said.
Yash and Radhika Pandit, who started their acting career with the television serial Nandagokula also made their film debut together in Mooggina Manasu (2008).
The duo has always shared a great camaraderie. They went on to act together in four other movies, including Drama, Mr and Mrs Ramachari and Santhu Straight Forward, thereby becoming one of the most-loved on-screen Sandalwood couples.
Yash is also reportedly one of the highest paid actors in the industry.
