Hollywood funnyman Jim Carrey thinks it is a “shame” that details of his ex-girlfriend Cathriona White’s autopsy report were made public.
The Mask actor was left devastated when Cathriona was found dead at her home in Los Angeles in September 2015. Earlier this week, her death was ruled a suicide, with a report from the LA County Coroner’s office stating that it was caused by “multiple drugs effect”.
Carrey, 54, has spoken out for the first time following the release of the autopsy report, according to People magazine.
According to reports, Cathriona had taken a mix of prescription drugs including Zofran, Propranol, Percocet, and Ambien.
Carrey had texted her the night before she died, asking her if she knew how the painkillers prescribed to him went missing.
Three of the prescriptions found at her house were under the pseudonym “Arthur King”, and the coroner’s report stated: “Given this, it appears likely that the bottles for ‘Arthur King’ found on (White’s) bedside table were the prescriptions he (Carrey) was referring to.”
The report stated that Cathriona became upset after splitting up with Carrey three days before her death. She left two notes; one with instructions to have her belongings sold with the proceeds going to her family, and another more personal one to Carrey about their relationship, which included the line:
