Telugu Actor Jayasudha’s Husband Nitin Kapoor Allegedly Kills Self

Kapoor was a film producer who married Telugu actress and former Congress MLA Jayasudha in 1985.

Nitin Dwarkadas Kapoor, Bollywood actor Jeetendra's cousin and husband of Telugu actress Jayasudha, allegedly committed suicide on Tuesday, by jumping from a building in Mumbai, police said.

A resident of Hyderabad, Nitin had reportedly been undergoing treatment for depression in the city’s Kokilaben D Ambani Hospital. He leaped off the terrace of the Sea Glimpse Apartment, where he was staying with his sister.

Neighbours rushed him to a hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.

Kapoor was a film producer who married Telugu actress and former Congress MLA Jayasudha in 1985. Jayasudha was a popular Telugu actor in the late 1970s and 1980s, who has acted with NTR, ANR and Chiranjeevi. A Congress MLA from Secunderabad in the previous united Andhra Pradesh Assembly, Jayasudha lost the 2014 polls.

Kapoor had been jobless for the last 18 years. His family resides in Hyderabad and he was staying in Mumbai at his sister’s house.

No suicide note was recovered from the spot, Dudhe said, adding there was nothing suspicious in the incident.

A case of accidental death report has been registered with the Versova police station, the senior official said. The reason for Kapoor taking the extreme step was not yet known, police said.
