Scottish actor James Cosmo has been signed on for Petta director Karthik Subbaraj’s yet untitled gangster film with Dhanush. Cosmo played Jeor Mormont, Lord Commander of the Night's Watch and father of Jorah Mormont, in HBO’s Game of Thrones and has also appeared in Ben Hur, Troy and The Chronicle of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.
Karthik and the producers Y Not Studios shared the news over Twitter.
Karthik had earlier approached Hollywood star Al Pacino for a role in the film. However, the makers couldn’t get dates with the Scarface actor which reportedly led to a prolonged delay in production. According to reports, the film is back on track and Aadukalam star is expected to begin shooting shortly in a single schedule. Dhanush plays an Indian gangster with Aishwarya Lekshmi as the leading lady. The rest of the cast and the release date are to be announced.
In the meanwhile, Dhanush will be seen next on screen in romantic drama Enai Noki Paayum Thota, which releases on 6 September.
