Priya Prakash Varrier-starrer Oru Adaar Love is in fresh legal trouble. Two Hyderabad-based parties have filed fresh application in the Supreme Court objecting to the popular wink scene in a song from the Malayalam film that went viral recently. The application cites that the act of winking is forbidden in Islam.

According to Hindustan Times, the applicants want the court to hear the petitioners before giving a verdict on Varrier’s petition to quash the criminal charges registered earlier against her.

The Supreme Court, on 21 February 2018, had ordered a stay on all criminal proceedings against Varrier as well as producer and director of Oru Adaar Love Omar Lulu, a week after the Falaknama police in Hyderabad registered an FIR against the filmmaker. The court also directed that no FIR can be lodged in the future in any state against them for allegedly hurting religious sentiments of Muslims.
