The teaser for upcoming sci-fi film 2.0 starring Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar was released in September. Watch it here:
The film has been directed by S Shankar and produced by Karan Johar. It also stars Amy Jackson. It will be released in 12 languages, including Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
Lyca Productions shared the first song from the film called ‘Raajali’. The music has been composed by AR Rahman. The video offers a glimpse of Akshay Kumar and Rajinikanth in their respectives avatars.
Akshay Kumar shared a teaser announcing the date of the release of the official 2.0 trailer. It is scheduled for 3 November.
Rajinikanth will play the robot superhero Chitti and Akshay Kumar will star as the villian in what seems to be a sort of Wolverine-like avatar. Check out their avatars below.
The trailer for 2.0 is almost here! It’s scheduled to be released at noon on 3 November.
Rajinikanth fans can barely contain their excitement with the trailer launch of 2.0 just a few hours away. An army of Chittis (one of the characters played by Thalaiva) has congregated outside Sathyam Cinemas.

Akshay Kumar and Amy Jackson have reached the 2.0 trailer launch venue. The film marks Akshay’s Tamil debut.
3D kits have been distributed among the audience so as to experience the best of the 4D 2.0 trailer. The film has been shot in native 3D, a first for Indian cinema.
Music director AR Rahman has arrived for the trailer launch.
We worked very hard to create something never before attempted in cinema with 2.0, says Oscar-winner Resul Pookutty.
“This is a true extension of 3D sound; it allows audience participation,” he adds.
“2.0 is the first film in India to have the 4 D sound technology. Resul Pookutty and his team has put in their best efforts”, says director Shankar.
Akshay Kumar and Rajinikanth were spotted chatting at the trailer launch of 2.0.
Oscar-winner music director AR Rahman who has composed the music for 2.0 says, “Shankar is Shankar.”
The 2.0 makers felicitate the talented crew and the cast of the film. Shankar, Amy Jackson, Akshay Kumar and Rajinikanth take the stage.
“I have been practising my Tamil since the last three hours but please forgive my pronunciation,” says Akshay Kumar as he begins his speech.
“I can’t express my feelings, thank you everyone for the epic movie,” he adds.
There has not been a day in my life when I have not seen the sun rise, the actor says while commenting on his fitness regime, saying he wakes up at 4am every day to work out.
“I have learnt a lot from my director Shankar and went through the long make-up schedules. It’s been a great experience and has been worth the pain I went through,” he says.
In a video message, actor-politician Kamal Haasan says that 2.0 would be a milestone in Rajinikanth’s filmography.
“I was very nervous but it was a huge privilege to work alongside not only two great actors but also human beings,” says Amy Jackson, who also speaks about the challenges of playing a robot.
“I didn’t even know 4D existed!” she says.
“The only way to handle pressure is to work more,” says Shankar in response to SS Rajamouli’s question in a video message.
And here’s the Tamil and Hindi trailer.
“Take my word, 2.0 will be a super hit,” says Rajinikanth. "It’s not because of Rs 600 crore or because Akshay Kumar or Rajinikanth are in it. It’s because of Shankar who never fails. It’s a thriller and an entertainer and it has a universal message.”
