“He has willed to us the legacy of freedom of thought and expression, the legacy of debate, the legacy of secularism, the legacy of political magnanimity and the legacy of democracy,” declares the voiceover in the trailer.
The book chronicles the legacy of India’s first prime minister from the point of view of the 21st century. It explores the different facets of Nehru by examining his personal attributes in light of historical events. The announcement coincides with the launch of a new edition of the book, which was first published in 2007.
The series is set to air in 2019.
