ALT Balaji’s ‘The Test Case’ Looks Like Demi Moore’s ‘G. I. Jane’

Is ALT Balaji’s latest, ‘The Test Case’ starring Nimrat Kaur just a rehash of ‘G. I. Jane’ starring Demi Moore?

In a brand new avatar, we’ll see The Lunchbox actor, Nimrat Kaur, play an Army Commando in ALT Balaji’s The Test Case, a new web-series. The Airlift actor excitedly shared the trailer of The Test Case, but to be quite honest, we aren’t as excited. The trailer looks like the series is just a rehash of the 1997 American film starring Demi Moore, ‘G. I. Jane’. Watch below:

The Test Case follows the story of Shikha Sharma (Nimrat Kaur), a woman, going through intense military training and her fellow companions don’t think she is cut out for it. Politicians are involved as the stakes are high to assess if women can live up to military ranks, and she is chosen as ‘the test case’. G. I. Jane’s plot is exactly the same.

In the Hollywood film directed by Ridley Scott, a female Senator succeeds in enrolling a woman into Navy SEALS training where everyone expects her to fail. While this isn’t an official trailer of G. I. Jane, it does offer an insight into what the film is about, and The Test Case looks eerily similar. Even the title of The Test Case seems to be inspired from a line out of G. I. Jane.
