Netflix has released the trailer to the sixth and final season of political drama House of Cards. Following allegations of sexual harassment, the streaming service dropped actor Kevin Spacey (Frank Underwood) from the eight-episode final season.

At the close of season five, Robin Wright (Claire Underwood) might have broken the fourth wall declaring it was ‘her turn’, but the trailer of season six makes it clear that her journey as the new President of the United States of America has been anything but smooth.

Claire appears to have made several enemies, perhaps even more than her husband. The media has branded her possibly “the worst thing that could have ever happened to this country”; Underwood loyalist Doug Stamper finds his allegiance wavering; and rivals in the form of siblings Annette and Ben Shepherd (Diane Lane and Greg Kinnear) threaten her authority, though how effective they will prove to be against Claire’s cunning remains to be seen.

As the trailer clearly suggests, Claire Underwood may be in hot water, but there’s no way she’s going down without a fight. Echoing the sentiments of her final words during the finale of season five, she tells Doug,“I’m not going to be told what to do anymore. Not by you or any other man, ever again.”

The sixth season of House of Cards is slated for release on 2 November.
