Streaming giant Netflix on Saturday 25 May announced that filmmaker/TV personality Karan Johar will be hosting a dating show called What The Love? on the platform. Netflix announced the news on Twitter on the occasion of Karan’s 47th birthday.
“This is probably not how presents work but on the occasion of his birthday we've decided to gift ourselves a dating show hosted by @karanjohar. What The Love? With Karan Johar, coming to Netflix! @BBCStudiosIndia”, Netflix’s India account wrote on Twitter.
Netflix had earlier in the day wished Karan on his birthday, saying “Happy birthday to the creator of some of the most beautiful romances we've ever seen. Can't wait to write some more with you, @karanjohar.”
Karan is currently in New York to celebrate his birthday, Earlier in the week he met Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor who are in the city for Rishi’s treatment. Rishi wished him on Twitter, writing, “This is wishing @karanjohar a very Happy Birthday . God Bless! You are such a riot to sit with and listen. Enjoy New York!”
Madhuri Dixit, Ayushmann Khurrana, Bhumi Pednekar and many other celebrities too shared wishes for the director on social media.
Apart from being a director and producer, Karan has ventured successfully into other avenues of the entertainment industry.
He hosts the popular television talk show Koffee with Karan and the radio show Calling Karan. He has also appeared as a judge on competition reality shows Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, India's Got Talent and India's Next Superstars.
